You can have the best:
workout programming
nutritional strategy
recovery protocol
But if your ability to execute on those things is sub-par, a year will pass and you’ll look, feel, and perform the exact same.
What a lot of men fail to realize is that the system they’re running is only half the battle, and it’s contingent on the other half being in full effect: effort.
In my 15+ years coaching men, I’ve identified two subcategories.
The Superstar & The Struggler
The Superstar is someone, who regardless of circumstances, always executes at a minimum threshold of 90%.
He makes the time.
He prioritizes himself.
And he understands that the results he desires are in the work that needs to be done.
The Struggler, however, is the polar-opposite.
He operates at consistent sub-90% execution, and uses circumstances to justify his lack of execution.
Boiled down to it’s simplest form:
The Superstar acts in accordance with his goals.
The Struggler acts in accordance with his emotions.
This is a classic case of the victor mindset vs the victim mindset.
If you currently identify as The Struggler
Today is the day that changes — if you choose it.
What’s one micro-action you can take right now, as you’re reading this, to start moving the needle in the right direction?
Here are some examples:
These are small hinges that swing big doors. Pick one and execute now.
Finish the day at 7,000 steps
Finish the day with 3L of water consumed
Finish the day with 0.8g of protein per pound of bodyweight consumed
Set your alarm for 60 minutes earlier tomorrow morning, put your gym bag together, and commit to the gym first thing tomorrow
Now, lock that in for the next 7 days.
Then, add in a second one for the next 7 days.
And after that, a third one.
Execute based on your goals, not your emotions.
And by summer 2026, you won’t recognize yourself.
If I can do it, and if my fat loss clients can do it, so can you.
